Disposal of old computers, printers, etc

We have an old copier we need to dispose of but are not sure how to go about it.  I recall that over the years other member s of the MIS group who were faced with this issue, raised this question and hopefully did find a solution. 
 
Can anyone assist us in finding out how those persons who had made the query resolved the issue?  We can be contacted through CITO
